TBH On Campus School
The residents of TBH attend our on-campus school that is staffed by veteran, certified teachers, fully accredited through
the State of Oklahoma, for six hours a day, five days a week. The teachers at TBH are provided by the Sand Springs School District and hold valid Oklahoma teaching certificates. The school follows the Sand Springs Public School calendar throughout the year. The curriculum consists of the four core subjects, English, Math, History, and Science, as well as Physical Education. The focus is primarily on reading and math with computer aided instruction used extensively in our curriculum.
Class sizes are small (ten to twelve boys per class) which allows for more individualized attention and instruction. Volunteer mentors/tutors are also available to provide individual tutoring to students who need extra help.
Our summer program, Summer Blast, begins the first week of June and ends the last week of July. Our summer program is a more laid back, hands-on curriculum. It offers Journalism, Math, Science, Humanities, Reading, Study Skills, and Basic Living Skills. Residents can earn much needed credits after successful completion of the summer program.
The final component of summer school is Physical Education that consists of: intramural sports including basketball, flag football, and baseball; swimming, experiential games that promote teamwork; weight training, cardiovascular endurance, and tennis.
