About Our Program...

We provide residential treatment for 64 boys with serious mental health, behavioral, and substance abuse issues. Our residents are not able to function in a lower level of care (such as their own home, group home, foster family, etc.) and require more intensive structure, supervision, and treatment.  Length of stay depends on the needs of the resident.

  • Twenty-four (24) beds are for boys, ages 13-17 needing residential substance abuse treatment. Available for boys whose legal residence is in the state of Oklahoma and who meet the admission requirements. For additional information about our Substance Abuse Treatment Program such as admission criteria and contact information, please click here.

  • Forty (40) beds are available under a Level D+ contract with the Child Welfare Division of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services (DHS), for boys ages 11-17 who are legally adjudicated "deprived." Available only for boys who are in state custody and whose caseworkers have been authorized by DHS to place the child at our facility.  For additional information about the
  • DHS contracted program, please click here.

Treatment...

THE TULSA BOYS' HOME "RELATIONSHIP HEALING MODEL"

Tulsa Boys' Home has developed a powerful treatment approach we call the "Relationship Healing Model." Our Model provides an opportunity for residents and families to move forward through the healing process through achieving certain therapeutic benchmarks.

EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY

Therapists use the horses as a tool for Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), and are trained  in the EAGALA Model of EAP (EAGALA is an abreviation for Equine Assisted Growth    and Learning Association). Residents benefit from the responsibility, trust, self-discipline,
and communication skills they learn from their relationships with the horses, and are also
taught equine care and horse safety as part of their overall horsemanship training.
